What is Pressure Reducing Valve Working Principle?

The pressure reducing valve is a valve that adjusts the inlet pressure to a certain required outlet pressure, and relies on the energy of the medium itself to automatically keep the outlet pressure stable.

1. Pressure reducing valve working principle

The pressure reducing valve reduces the medium pressure through the throttling and adjustment of the opening and closing parts, and through the direct action of the reduced medium pressure, the pressure behind the valve automatically meets the predetermined requirements.

When the pressure sensor detects that the valve pressure indication increases, the valve opening of the pressure reducing valve decreases; when the pressure reducing valve is detected, the opening of the pressure reducing valve increases to meet the control requirements.

2. How does the pressure reducing valve work?

The work of the pressure reducing valve is controlled by the pressure behind the valve. When the pressure sensor detects that the valve pressure indication increases, the valve opening of the pressure reducing valve decreases; when the pressure reducing valve is detected, the opening of the pressure reducing valve increases to meet the control requirements.

When the pressure indication of the valve is detected to increase, the opening of the pressure reducing valve decreases; when the pressure of the pressure reducing valve is detected, the opening of the pressure reducing valve increases to meet the control requirements. Steam pressure reducing valve, the pressure reduction ratio of the valve must be higher than the system value to some extent; it should be able to respond to the direct-acting or reverse-acting control signal even at maximum or minimum flow. These valves should be selected for the useful control range, ie 20% to 80% of the maximum flow. Normally it is equal or has equal properties. These types of valves inherently have the optimum flow characteristics and flow ranges required for proportional control.

3. Classification of pressure reducing valves

There are many types of pressure reducing valves, the common ones are: pilot piston pressure reducing valve, membrane pressure reducing valve, bellows pressure reducing valve, proportional pressure reducing valve, self-operated pressure reducing valve, direct acting piston pressure reducing valve , Back pressure regulating valve, etc. They are respectively suitable for different working media.

Different forms have different specific working principles. But the general principle is: the pressure reducing valve reduces the inlet pressure to a certain required outlet pressure through the throttling of the opening and closing parts, and keeps the outlet pressure stable. However, the general pressure reducing valve requires that the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet must be greater than or equal to 0.2MPa.
